A 145-ft section grading 0.155 oz gold per ton has been pulled by United Gold Corp. on its Clio property in Tuolumne Cty., Calif.
A total of five holes was drilled prior to the Christmas break and assays from the first three holes have been returned, including the above-mentioned RC-86-3.
Hole RC-86-1 pulled a 15-ft section grading 0.052 oz and a 14 ft intersection grading 0.15 oz.
Hole RC-86-2 returned a 35-ft intersection grading 0.076 oz and a 41-ft section grading 0.034 oz.
The current phase of the drill program, which consists of 20 drill holes, is testing the first of two geochemical gold anomalies on the property. Both anomalous zones are about 2,500 ft in length and straddle the Mother Lode gold belt contained within the property.
The second anomaly will be drilled in the second phase of drilling this spring.
