Employees at the Faro mine in the Yukon are currently not members of a union, although the United Steel Workers of America has petitioned the Canada Labour Relation Board to review its jurisdiction over the mine.
The Steelworkers were in place under Curragh’s ownership.
The position of Anvil Range Mining (TSE), the mine’s owner, is that the union does not have successor rights to the mine as it was not a “going concern” when Curragh’s receiver sold it to Anvil last November.
