Underground drilling at Armistice bet

Shaft rehabilitation to the 1,250-ft level at gold property in the Kirkland Lake, Ont., area has been completed and underground drilling has been started, Armistice Resources (ME) reports.

Armistice plans to explore the property, located next to the old Kerr Addison gold mine at Virginiatown, to 6,000 ft.

Initial target of the underground drilling is the Sheldon zone; nine holes will be drilled from the 1,250-ft station. The objective is to extend the zone identified by underground drilling in 1948.

Sinking of the rehabilitated shaft is also under way. Stations are to be installed every 200 ft and a minimum of 3,000 ft of drilling is planned from each station during the shaft-sinking program.
