Colorado-based Westchester Mining recently negotiated a lease with option to purchase of the Golconda mine property in Baker Cty., Ore. Terms of the transaction were not released.
The privately held mining company said the property consists of patented lands on the Cracker Creek mineralized system which has produced more than 500,000 oz. gold.
Richard Pliler, the company’s chief operating officer, noted the favorable geology of the land package and said the company was pleased to have the property in its portfolio.
“We plan an aggressive exploration program this field season to prove its potential.
