U.S. REPORT Savanna in deal with Cominco on Oregon property

Calgary-based Savanna Resources (ASE) has optioned its Turner Albright gold-copper-zinc property in Oregon to Cominco American Resources, a unit of Cominco (TSE). Situated near O’Brien, Ore., the 2,300-acre property is currently owned 75% by Savanna and 25% by American Chromium (ASE), which in turn is owned 86% by Savanna.

The joint venture deal gives Cominco American the right to earn a 50% stake in the property by completing a drill program, delivering a feasibility study and commencing development.

Exploration to date on the claims has established a 4-million-ton deposit containing an estimated 400,000 oz. of gold, 1.6 million oz. of silver, 100 million lb. of copper and 240 million lb. of zinc. Cominco American’s initial program will be aimed at increased the drill-indicated tonnage.
