U.S.REPORT NEWS IN BRIEF Placer drills Jualin gold bet

A drill program by Placer Dome (TSE) has started on the Jualin gold project near Juneau, Alaska.

The major may earn a 50% interest in the project from current 60/40 owners International Curator Resources (VSE) and Granges (TSE).

Preliminary reserves for Jualin were last reported as 1.06 million tons averaging 0.34 oz. gold per ton. The property is situated at the north end of the Juneau gold belt, and not far from the advanced Kensington gold project being developed by Echo Bay Mines and Coeur d’Alene Mines.

Placer’s 7,000-ft. drilling program at Jualin this year is directed at targets in the Upper Jualin, the Berners Tunnel and the DZ zone.
