Letter to the editor: U.S. reader assails Chretien

If Canada desires to follow a narrow-minded, provincial Quebecois as its leader, so be it. You make your bed, . . .

In the future, I hope other Americans remember Canada’s spinelessness. Actually it is even worse than spineless if we consider the multitude of subversive, North African Arabian terrorists the government of Quebec has gladly invited, with the national government’s agreement. Childish jealousy and worry about the dominance of the larger U.S. is one thing; encouragement for terrorists to come to Canada is another.

I, for one, will remember Canada’s feckless choice. Life is not ruled by one decision alone. I hope, even as a Canadian expatriate, that there will be repercussions.

To me, chicken-hearts are no excuse. As much as I can, I expect to boycott Canadian goods or securities. If Canada thinks an old-time Quebecois farmer defines leadership in your nation, then a farmer’s view from Shawinigan will guide your policies.

By the way, how does it feel to be matched equally with the French, as phony, weak and duplicitous? Remember Vichy?
