Two mining projects receive gov’t grants

The federal and Quebec governments will contribute equally in a $1-million grant to Cambior for surface infrastructure work for the Pascalis gold project east of Val d’Or, Que. The Pascalis project is scheduled for production starting in September.

Rouyn will receive $300,000, again to be equally paid out by the two levels of government. The money will be used to improve the access road to the Francoeur gold mine near Rouyn-Noranda, Que. Rouyn, the operator, and LAC Minerals are 50/50 partners in the producing property.
