Tundra busy with gold and platinum

Tundra Gold Mines has started drilling with two rigs on its properties in the Labrador Trough area of northern Quebec and Labrador. Initial results from the first hole include a 48-ft section of massive sulphides. The core will be assayed for platinum group metals. Tundra is testing a section of several long gossan zones which have been traced along strike for two miles. Another hole has also cut massive sulphides ranging up to 16 ft in thickness. The zone lies along the western extension of the Pogo Lake sill. The Pogo Lake sill is being drilled by the LaFosse Platinum Group which has made several platinum discoveries in the area.

Near Val d’Or, Que., additional strong results continue to come from underground work near the shut down Lamaque mine. Operated by Teck Explorations, drilling on the 3,400-ft level has cut 27.9 ft grading 0.63 oz gold per ton (cut to one oz). Another hole from the 1,800-ft level of the Lamaque workings intersected 18 ft grading 0.17 oz.
