International Potash holds 100% of Colorado-based U. S. Potash Corp., which holds interests in the United States Department of the Interior’s prospecting permit applications, and in various state potash exploration leases

.A deal with Russian steelmaker Severstal’s Dutch subsidiary, Lybica Holding, pushed Mano River Resources shares 82% higher over the week. Liberia-focused Mano agreed to sell 61.5% of its Putu Range iron ore deposit for US$37.5 million. Lybica will also acquire a 6.29% stake in Mano following a private placement for up to US$4 million but first Lybica will provide Mano’s subsidiary with a loan of up to US$15 million.

Odyssey Resources shares fell nearly 45% to 21 each, making the company the top loser by percentage value. Odyssey, which has copper-silver exploration properties in Morocco, announced plans to do a nonbrokered private placement for 25 per share for up to $4.5 million. The funds will be used to pay off its outstanding $530,000 debt to Dundee Resources and for general corporate purposes.

Metalex Ventures’ stock was up 24 to 36 over the period on a volume of 21.2 million shares. The company found a third diatreme at its diamond project in Angola, which has yet to be analyzed for diamonds. Four diatremes at the project were pitted or augured last year and confirmed as kimberlites. The company’s joint-venture property in the James Bay lowlands, near Noront Resources’ Double Eagle deposit, also produced some positive results over the period. The first drill hole at the project, where Metalex is partnered with WSR Gold and Arctic Star Diamond, intersected massive sulphides between 78 and 90 metres depth containing significant amounts of phyrrhotite, pyrite and chalcopyrite.
