A block of claims in the historic Greenwood mining camp of southern British Columbia is about to be acquired by Tropicana Developments (VSE).
The company is negotiating to acquire claims near the old McKinney mine in Camp McKinney.
President Mike Muzylowski said the claims are located across the border from the 8-million-ton Crown Jewel gold project of Crown Resources (TSE) in Washington state, and near that company’s 35,000-acre Midway project. Skarn gold deposits similar to Crown Jewel have become an important exploration target in southern British Columbia and northern Washington.
