Tri Origin secures Ontario ground

A 717-metre diamond drill program by Tri Origin Exploration (TOE-T) at its Confederation base metal property in northwestern Ontario has returned lacklustre results.

Of five planned holes, two were abandoned and two intersected disseminated massive sulphide mineralization grading up to 0.74% copper over 1 metre. The company blames the shortened program on deeper-than-expected overburden and the early arrival of spring.

However, Tri Origin remains optimistic of the area’s potential, and has increased its land position to 370 claims over 6,000 ha. The company’s original land package, which covers the Uchi-Confederation greenstone belt, comprises 82 claims. In anticipation of a summer drill program, Tri Origin will begin geological, geochemical and geophysical surveys on the claims when weather permits.

The confederation property is covered by a joint-venture agreement between Tri Origin and Australian base metal producer Savage Resources, which can earn a 60% interest by spending $1.5 million on exploration.
