Drilling has resumed on the Lewis Ponds property in New South Wales, Australia, in an effort to follow up an earlier discovery.
Tri Origin Exploration (TSE) reports that the previous hole, 46, intersected 6 metres of massive sulphides that averaged 2.53 grams gold and 127 grams silver per tonne, in addition to 0.3% copper, 6.06% lead and 9.35% zinc.
At present, two holes have been completed. Hole 49, which was drilled 45 metres north of, and 150 metres deeper than, the earlier intersection, cut 4 metres of massive sulphides averaging 1.28 grams gold and 81 grams silver, as well as 0.14% copper, 2.98% lead and 8.9% zinc. The intersection was within an 18-metre section of disseminated sulphides.
Hole 48, which was drilled 50 metres north of, and 30 metres deeper than, the discovery, cut 9 metres of disseminated sulphides with sub-economic grades of mineralization.
Tri Origin has also carried out surface chip sampling across an unexplored gossan adjacent to an old pit 100 metres west of the discovery hole. The sample returned 6.65 grams gold and 420 grams silver, plus 1.22% copper, 6.2% lead and 0.29% zinc.
The company will next drill between the discovery hole and hole 49.
