Tri Origin Exploration (TOE-V) has outlined gold geochemical anomalies at its Red Lake Extension property, about 10 km southeast of the Red Lake mine, near Red Lake, Ont.
Four anomalous areas have been defined, the most widespread covering an area 1,500 metres by 800 metres. This anomaly is defined by 19 overburden samples that assayed from 80-183 ppb gold (background varied from 1-40 ppb gold).
The three other areas are defined by a grouping of at least four anomalous samples. Spot highs, up to 2,093 ppb gold, require further definition.
Over 800 "humus" soil samples were taken at 50-metre-spacing along tie-lines spaced 400 metres apart.
The 88-sq.-km property is interpreted to cover a major contact between mafic volcanic rocks with intermediate-to-felsic volcanic rocks, (an extension of the Red Lake greenstone belt) as well as a large (3 km by 7 km) felsic to intermediate intrusion.
Follow-up ground geophysics will be carried out later this month and once results are known, a drill program will test gold targets.
