Tri Origin drills Straw Lake play

A 2,000-metre drill program is under way at Tri Origin Exploration’s (TSE) Straw Lake gold property, west of Thunder Bay, Ont.

The northern half of the 2,135-hectare property is underlain by intrusive rocks which host numerous vein-hosted gold occurrences. Assay values from these run as high as 1 oz. per ton.

Underlying the southern portion are volcanic rocks and quartz sericite schists with extensive zones of pyrite and iron carbonate alteration.

Drilling will test induced-polarization and soil geochemical anomalies coincident with the schist units. Secondary targets in the northern portion will also be tested, and results are expected within the next month.
