Trenching extends Takatu gold zone

A trenching program is in progress at the joint-venture Takatu gold project in northwestern Guyana.

Partners Toscana Resources (TNR-V) and Champion Resources (CHL-V) report preliminary results for trench 10, 600 metres southeast of trench 1, where a 32-metre section averaged 2.76 grams gold per tonne. The first 85 metres of the 140-metre-long trench averaged 1.23 grams, including a 45-metre interval grading 1.96 grams.

Auger drilling nearby returned values ranging from 0.6 gram over 5 metres to 5.25 grams over 8 metres, in a gold-bearing quartz manganese stockwork in a north-northwesterly trending shear zone. The mineralized structure is at least 600 metres long and open at both ends. Two additional trenches have been completed to the northwest, along strike.
