Tremor kills South Africans

Three miners were killed and four others injured after an earth tremor caused a rock fall at AngloGold’s Savuka mine, 30 km west of Johannesburg.

The tremor, which measured 2.6 on the Richter scale, occurred 2,900 metres underground. An investigation is under way, to be followed by an inspection by government and company officials.
