An engineer at Quebec’s Centre de Recherches Minerales, Remi Tremblay, was recently honored at the 117th conference of the American Institute of Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers for his work on column flotation. Tremblay, along with colleague Perre Boutin, in 1959 invented and patented the column flotation process, which allows for the separation of valuable minerals from worthless minerals.
