Trading Summary (May 20, 2004)

The Toronto Stock Exchange S & P Composite closed down 0.60% or 48.94 points to close at 8,147.85.The TSE gold index closed down a modest 0.76%, just 1.47 points lower to close at 192.80. The diversified metals and mining index also closed down. It was down 2.02 points, or 0.96% to close at 207.36 points. Gold closed down $1.25 at US$379.50

Eldorado Gold (ELD-T) led the way in volume, trading 22.7 million shares to close at $3, down 6, or almost 2%. The company reported increases to both operating and capital costs at its proposed Kisladag mine, but the project still has a good rate of return at 29%.

Breakwater Resources (BWR-T) traded second in volume at 3.3 million shares, ending the day unchanged at 43.

Adastra Minerals (AMZ-T) traded 50,500 shares to close up 30 at $1.70. The company has awarded the contract for the environmental and social impact assessment on the Kolwezi cobalt/copper tailings project in Democratic Republic of Congo to SRK of South Africa.

Birim Goldfields (BGI-T) gained 14.5% or 8 to end the day at 63, on a volume of 103,950 shares and no news.

Thistle Mining (THT-T) traded 1.36 million shares to close down 13.9%, or 2, at 15.
