Tournigan looking for partner at Bear pass gold property

Although no agreement has been made, Tournigan Mining Explorations (VSE) says it has started talks with several major mining companies for a possible joint venture to further explore and develop its Bear Pass property near Stewart, B.C. The property, consisting of 57 crown-granted claims, is adjacent to claims where Bond Gold made an significant gold discovery last fall.

John Hembling, president, said the property has extensive surface and underground workings, including several thousand feet of diamond drilling carried out by former owners and by Tournigan.

This work led to the discovery of copper-gold-silver and silver-lead- zinc reserves in five separate but contiguous areas covered by the 57 claims. One area is reported to contain preliminary reserves of 500,000 tons (still open) averaging 2.2% copper, 0.06-0.08 oz. gold and 0.5 oz. silver per ton.

John Hembling said extensive work will be required to assess the large property “ideally with a major operating partner.”

He also noted that the Bear Pass property has year-round road access and “indisputable title.”
