Toronto CIM branch to discuss SX-EW

The Toronto branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum will present a talk by the General Manager, Technical, of Rio Algom on the solvent extraction-electrowinning (SX-EW) process used at the Cerro Colorado copper mine in Chile.

Thomas John will describe how SX-EW works, including its advantages over conventional flotation and cost comparison. Discussions will also include the advances Canada has made in the technology.
