More drilling by Armistice Resources (aci-m) at its Sheldon-Larder property, southwest of Virginiatown, Ont., has confirmed the existence of mineralization similar to the “flow ore” at the nearby Kerr Addison mine.
In 34 holes drilled this year from an exploration drift at a depth of 2,250 ft., Armistice has outlined seven mineralized zones. Two of the zones appear to be continuous over a 1,200-ft. strike length and resemble the Kerr’s “flow ore.” Other mineralization appears to be hosted by green carbonate-altered rock, also characteristic of the Kerr.
Armistice has calculated preliminary resource figures for the two main zones.
Zone 260N, centred 260 ft. north of the shaft, contains 309,600 tons grading 0.12 oz. gold per ton, and Zone 350/400N, farther north, is estimated to contain 330,260 tons at 0.23 oz. per ton. The estimates used uncut grades and a minimum width of 5 ft., and did not include mineralization in any of the other zones.
In recent drilling on the 2250 level, another 15 holes have confirmed a 500-ft.-wide package of mineralized structures in both argillite and green carbonate-altered rock. Notable intersections have included a 5.2-ft. zone grading 1.01 oz. gold per ton, 6 ft. grading 0.32 oz., and a 39.5-ft.
interval in green carbonate rock grading 0.04 oz. per ton.
