A short-term contract with Falconbridge for the delivery of nickel ore to Falconbridge’s mill and smelter in Sudbury, Ont., has been entered into by Timmins Nickel (TSE).
Timmins Nickel, which mines nickel in the Timmins, Ont., area, is involved in a legal dispute with Marshall Minerals (ASE) over the Carshaw mill which was being used to process the ore.
Timmins Nickel says the agreement with Falconbridge will allow for the processing of its existing ore inventory. The company says it has placed its Redstone nickel mine on temporary care and maintenance.
