A 25,000-ft. drilling program has been completed by equal partners Thunderwood Resources (TSE) and Greenstone Resources (TSE) on their Scott Lake polymetallic property, 12 miles west of Chibougamau, Que. The $700,000 program yielded more intersections of stringer copper-zinc sulphides in holes collared about 1,200 ft. northwest of the Scott Lake deposit. The latter hosts preliminary reserves of 777,000 tons grading 6.8% zinc, 0.14% copper, and 0.34 oz. silver per ton.
The best hole in the recent batch of results cut a wide intersection of 239 ft. grading 0.43% copper, 0.18% zinc and 0.08 oz. silver. Six other holes northwest of the main deposit cut narrower intervals of uneconomic grades such as 66 ft. grading 0.38% copper and 0.03% zinc.
Two holes were also drilled to test a geophysical (IP) anomaly situated nearly one mile west of the Scott deposit. The first of those holes cut 0.66% zinc over 30 ft., while the second returned 0.32% zinc over 94 ft.
A $300,000 follow-up program, including 15,000 ft. of drilling, is set to get under way in January. The new program will test two areas about 1,500 ft. west of the Scott Lake deposit as well as a third target area one mile west of the deposit.
