Three drills probe McNickel prospect

President John McAdam said samples from the first 20 holes have been split and sent out for assay, but no results have been received yet.

“Because of the speed with which drilling is being carried out, and the large number of samples from each hole, it is expected that considerable time will be required before all assay results are in hand,” said McAdam.

Three drill machines are currently at work around the clock testing sulphide zones indicated by previous surface trenching and geophysical surveys on the property.

McAdam said all holes drilled to date have intersected disseminated to massive sulphides similar to that encountered in surface trenching. Most of the holes have been concentrated within a 300-sq-m area in the vicinity of the original surface exposures.

Drilling has confirmed mineralization consisting of disseminated pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite and pentlandite over a horizontal width of 300 m. Massive sulphide lenses up to 6 m wide have been intersected within the disseminated mineralization.

One drill has been moved to test the zone about one km farther south of the original showings, and the first hole in that area cut 31.5 m of sulphide mineralization, said McAdam.

McNickel has an option to earn a 60% interest in the 40 claim discovery property. Other partners include St. Philips Resources (VSE) with 30% and Ramcor Resources (VSE) with 10% interest.
