Third quarter up for Imperial

Net income of $238,000 was reported by Imperial Metals (TSE) for the quarter ended Dec. 31. The results compare with earnings of $13,000 for the corresponding quarter in 1989. Earnings for the 9-month period ended Dec. 31 were $73,000 compared with $1.3 million in 1989. The year-earlier period included an extraordinary gain of almost $2 million from the sale of a 5% interest in the company’s U.K. affiliate Anglesey Mining.
