The South Africans are coming! (February 07, 2000)

Vancouver-based St. Jude Resources (SJD-V) has intersected more gold at its Hwini-Butre property in Ghana.

The latest round of infill and stepout holes focused on the Adoikrom, Father Brown and Dabokrom areas, all of which are associated with a 1.1-km, northerly trending shear zone.

The drilling also intersected a series of three shallowly dipping zones that run parallel to the Dabokrom Shaft zone. Each is thought to represent a splay off the main shear.

Overall, gold values ranged from 1 to 69.55 grams per tonne, though most were nearer the lower end. Mineralized intervals varied widely as well — from 1 to 29 metres — and occurred within 126 metres of surface.

Highlights include:

– hole ADK-28, collared at Adoikrom, which averaged 3.01 grams over 29 metres, starting from surface;

– hole FBZ-54, collared at Farther Brown, which averaged 3.14 grams over 17 metres (from 24 to 41 metres);

– hole FBZ-69, which cut 9 metres (98-107 metres) of 13.44 grams; and

– hole DAK-65, collared at Dabokrom, which cut 18 metres (starting at surface) of 4.28 grams and 7 metres (24-31 metre) of 1 gram.

Dabokrom, unlike the other zones, has consistently yielded multiple lenses: of the 37 holes reported, 25 intersected two or more intervals. Similar results were encountered in previous drilling.
