This mini-podcast features Franco-Nevada chairman Pierre Lassonde speaking at the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame 2019 induction ceremony in Toronto, telling the story of a chance meeting he had with Barrick Gold geologist Brian Meikle that forever changed Pierre’s life and Franco Nevada’s fortunes.
During the Hall of Fame ceremony, the late Brian Meikle was one of five inductees for his major gold discoveries with Barrick Gold, including the company-building Goldstrike, which grew to 60 million oz. gold and became North America’s largest — and the world’s second-largest — gold mine.
