THE GLOBAL SEARCH FOR GOLD SPECIAL — Pangea confirms find at Peruvian project

Strong trenching results have enabled Pangea Goldfields (PGD-T) to confirm gold mineralization over a 2-km strike length on a portion of its Victoria property in Peru.

Results have been reported from four trenches on the Pucamina shear, the second structure on the property found to be mineralized. Trenches P18 and P19 returned grades of 7.3 grams gold per tonne over 8 metres and 23.2 grams over 3.7 metres, respectively. Trench P25, situated 725 metres northwest of P19, returned 5.6 grams gold over 3 metres. Trench P6, situated 420 metres southeast of P18, returned 3.95 grams over 3 metres.

Pangea plans to dig 30 trenches on the Pucamina shear.

The company has also completed seven trenches on the Victoria property’s Atenea dyke. Trenches A6 through A12 returned gold values ranging from 0.5 to 54.6 grams gold over widths of 3-11 metres. The trenches have been spaced at 15-metre intervals to confirm the continuity of the mineralization. The strike length of the Atenea dyke has been confirmed over 500 metres and remains open. The presence of gold mineralization was confirmed by underground sampling in a 156-metre-long tunnel.

The latest silver assay results indicate the silver-gold ratio at Atenea increases from 3-to-1 at the surface, and to 5-to-1 at 70 metres near the oxide/sulphide transition.
