THE DIAMOND PAGE — United Reef mines in C.A.R.

Operator United Reef (URP-T) reports that mining has started at the MBala site on the Bamingui River diamond property in the Central African Republic.

A 30-Tonne-per-hour plant is expected to be operating at full capacity by late June. The 80%-owned operation is expected to produce between 600 and 800 carats of gem diamonds each month from the Bamingui River alluvial deposit, adjacent to the MBala processing plant.

To date, 5,731.27 carats of diamonds have been sold from the deposit, for an average value of US$182 per carat.
