THE DIAMOND PAGE — SouthernEra ties up agreement

Large-diameter drilling is planned by SouthernEra Resources (SUF-T) for the Camafuca-Camazambo pipe, near Calonda, in the Lunda Norte province of Angola.

The company recently issued 500,000 of its shares and paid US$1.9 million to obtain a 51% majority interest in the project. Various partners, including ENDIAMA, hold the remaining interests.

The Camafuca pipe was previously drilled by 282 holes, and at least 1,600 carats are known to have been recovered. Previous operators delineated shallow resources in two zones totalling about 8 million tonnes with an average grade of 0.17 carat per tonne and a low stripping ratio.

SouthernEra’s drill program is aimed at confirming and extending the known higher-grade areas and obtaining a large diamond parcel for price evaluation.
