Australian copper explorer Tethyan Copper, facing a takeover bid from Hong Kong merchant bank Crosby Capital Partners, has released new results from the H8 copper prospect on the Reko Diq property in western Pakistan.
H8, which lies between its two known resources at H4 and the Western Porphyries, appears to be a breccia pipe with moderate-grade copper mineralization. Four new holes and an extension of an earlier shallow hole all intersected 400 metres of mineralization from surface. Copper grades ranged from 0.3% to 0.48% and gold grades from 0.15 to 0.25 grams per tonne.
The drilled depths translate to a vertical depth of 375 metres, implying a horizontal width around 140 metres. Tethyan is awaiting drill results from 13 more holes and believes it can put together a resource figure based on that drilling.
