Core from the first four surface holes drilled this season on Tenajon Resources’ (TSE) SB property near Stewart, B.C., is reported to contain intersections with “significant sightings” of visible gold. Tenajon made the announcement on the basis of a report from its field geologist. The four holes, part of a 8,000-ft. surface drilling program, were drilled along 525 ft. of strike with the distance between the holes ranging from 65-130 ft.
The company noted that the holes are located south and along strike from the underground drilling on the West Kansas zone. Assay results are expected shortly.
The SB property is reported to contain 308,000 tons grading 0.5 oz. (0.35 oz. cut) gold in two zones which are still open for expansion. The surface drilling is part of a $450,000 program designed to expand reserves and explore several new zones.
The underground portion of the program is now complete, with 11 holes totalling 3,200 ft. drilled to test between hole continuity and downdip extensions on the Kansas and West Kansas zones.
Assays were released for nine holes from the underground program, and a tenth is reported to have encountered no significant intersections. Some of the better results from the underground drilling are: 26.2 ft. grading 0.47 oz. gold and 0.52 oz. silver per ton; 29.5 ft. of 0.55 oz. gold and 0.95 oz. silver; 9.8 ft. of 0.38 oz. gold and 0.32 oz. silver; and 2.7 ft. grading 11.41 oz. gold and 5.46 oz. silver.
Tenajon recently announced an agreement with Westmin Resources (TSE) whereby Westmin can earn a 50% interest in the SB property by spending $2.45 million and completing a feasibility study. Westmin would process reserves at its 50.1% owned Premier mill (2,200 tons per day) located within trucking distance of the SB property.
