Tenajon plans work program for Alamos copper property

An exploration program by Tenajon Resources (VSE) is expected to begin shortly on the Alamos property, a large porphyry copper target in Sonora, Mexico.

Tenajon said the property hosts several targets that collectively have potential to develop into a large, low-cost, heap-leach solvent extraction and electrowinning operation.

The junior recently signed an agreement with a Mexican syndicate allowing it to earn a 51% interest in the property through payments totalling $200,000, and US$400,000 of exploration expenditures over two years.

A joint venture would be formed at this stage, and should the syndicate elect not to participate, Tenajon’s interest would increase to 70% (with the remaining 30% interest to be carried).

A power line crosses the Alamos property which is accessible by road and has moderate terrain. The property is adjacent to Azco Mining’s Piedras Verdes property reported to host preliminary reserves of 5.3 million tons averaging 0.83% copper over a true thickness of 110 ft. Tenajon notes that this zone appears open to the northwest on to its Alamos property.

Only limited work has been done at Alamos, but one of the six targets identified to date is speculated to host the strike extension of the enriched copper chalcocite blanket zone on Azco’s property.

The first phase of this year’s work program will involve surface sampling on four of the primary targets to be followed by trenching in order to identify drill targets for the next phase of exploration.
