Teck to drill Nebex property

Calgary-based Nebex Resources (ASE) says Teck (TSE) will start drilling the junior’s base metal prospect in northern New Brunswick in early May.

The prospect lies 3 km north of the 10,000 tonne-per-day Brunswick lead-zinc mine near Bathurst, N.B.

Teck optioned the property in early 1991 and carried out an integrated mapping, stripping, geochemistry and geophysics program, including a deep penetration electromagnetic survey. Nebex says the program was successful in delineating the Brunswick horizon.

The 1,500-ft. program will test the favorable horizon at a vertical depth of 250 metres in the southern portion of the Nebex property. All holes will be surveyed using down-the-hole geophysical techniques.

Teck must spend $3 million during a 4-year period and make cash payments of $285,000 to earn a 51% interest in the claims.
