Teck and Getchell report Rainbow results

Encouraging results have been reported for all six holes drilled on the Rainbow copper-gold property in southern British Columbia.

Situated southeast of Kamloops, the project is a 70-30 joint venture between Teck (TEK-T) and Getchell Resources (GHS-V).

The first four holes of this year’s program determined the orientation of the Rainbow breccia pipe to a depth of 400 metres. Results are as follows: * Hole 1 returned 33 metres grading 0.3% copper and 0.11 gram gold per tonne, 198 metres of 0.25% copper and 0.6 gram gold, 69 metres of 0.42% copper and 0.09 gram gold, 27 metres of 0.7% copper and 0.21 gram gold, and 15 metres grading 1.11% copper and 0.34 gram gold.

* Hole 2 intersected 102 metres grading 0.26% copper and 0.1 gram gold, and 27 metres 0.46% copper and 0.16 gram gold.

* Hole 3 returned 72 metres grading 0.54% copper and 0.14 gram gold.

* Hole 4 returned nine intersections, the highest grades being 15 metres of 1.05% copper and 0.15 gram gold, and 45 metres of 1.02% copper and 0.53 gram gold.

* Hole 5 was collared in the centre of the updip expression of the pipe and directed down its projected centre. The hole returned 369 metres grading 0.66% copper and 0.21 gram gold, including 159 metres of 1.1% copper and 0.32 gram gold, 12 metres of 2.77% copper and 0.77 gram gold, and 27 metres of 1.68% copper and 0.72 gram gold.

* Hole 6 was collared to the southeast in an attempt to test a deeper portion of the breccia pipe. It was drilled over top of the pipe, though a narrow section of breccia was encountered between the Sugarloaf diorite and the hybrid unit. The hole returned 21 metres of 0.53% copper and 0.21 gram gold.

The property is near the Afton mine and mill, owned by Teck, and the check assays from Rainbow are said to compare well with assays from Afton.
