On the basis of exploration results obtained this fall, Taywin Resources plans further tests on several targets at its Electrum gold-silver prospect on Vancouver Island.
Taywin has a 55% interest in the property, with BP Minerals holding 45% (N.M., Nov 23/87).
In addition to the high grade Electrum vein, prospecting on the Anomaly Creek vein located high grade mineralization, with one grab sample running 9.72 oz gold per ton and 224 oz silver. The style of mineralization and its location indicates that it may be an extension of the Electrum vein. Drilling in the Anomaly Creek area intersected 3 ft of 0.17 oz gold and 10.8 oz silver. However, it is felt that this drilling missed the main ore shoot and further drilling will focus on tracing the high grade vein.
Samples from the large B zone quartz veins returned values averaging 0.11 oz gold and 4.5 oz silver. The company says this area also merits further investigation as a source of lower grade ore.
Mineralization in the C zone quartz veins is spotty. Despite good gold-silver values encountered in preliminary work, diamond drilling on the zone did not discover ore grades.
