One patented and 25 unpatented claims near Virginia City, Mont., have been acquired by Taylor Rand (CDN) from privately owned Valley View Mining. The price: US$75,000.
Taylor now holds 127 contiguous claims covering several gold-mineralized veins which are open along strike and at depth.
The new claims are strategically situated between Taylor’s U.S. Grant and Brown’s Gulch properties. The main U.S. Grant vein has proven and probable reserves of 80,000 tons grading 0.24 oz. gold per ton and 2.27 oz. silver. Taylor has begun a mapping and compilation program to increase reserves. In addition, it is refurbishing the U.S. Grant mill which has a capacity of 100 tons per day.
