Mining taxation is the subject of an international conference this week in Montreal.
The conference, to run from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4 at the headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organization, will focus on the development of mineral resources around the world, and the taxation regimes that may act as an inducement to development.
Organizers are the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum and the Department of Technical Co-operation for Development of the United Nations.
