Tandem explores in Ungava region

Using funds provided by an American partner, Tandem Resources (TDM-M) has launched a surface exploration program at a diamond prospect at Abloviak Fiord, in the Ungava Bay region of northern Quebec.

The program is focused on several areas where previous soil-sampling showed potential for diamond deposits. The property is owned by Diamond Discoveries International, which is funding the first $5 million of exploration. Tandem has rights to acquire a 40% interest by paying its proportionate share of $2 million.

Samples from the discovery area are being collected and will be sent to Lakefield Research for analysis.

Earlier this year, Tandem reported the discovery of rubies in a separate area of the Abloviak Fiord project. Prior to that, the company reported a diamond discovery in a kimberlite dyke. Two samples returned 10 diamonds, including two macros.
