Tan Range tests Tanzanian bet

A 320-hole drill campaign is testing gold anomalies at Tan Range Exploration‘s (TNX-A) Mnekezi property in the Lake Victoria greenstone belt of Tanzania.

The anomalies, which were identified by soil sampling, will be subjected to rotary air blast drilling in a program that is expected to span 16,000 metres. Tan Range says the work is designed to confirm the source of the anomalies and pinpoint further drill targets.

The Mnekezi property adjoins the company’s Tulawaka property, where recent drilling returned 39 metres grading 12.7 grams gold per tonne and 22 metres of 14.6 grams gold.

Newmont Mining (NEM-N) can earn up to a 70% interest in the Mnekezi property, as well as similar interests in three other properties held by Tan Range in the same region.

Tan Range owns nine properties, totalling 633 sq. km, in Tanzania.
