Surface work on the Itetemia gold project in Tanzania is outlining an extensive, pyrite-rich gossan.
Tan Range Exploration (ASE), which is earning a 90% interest in the property, reports that soil samples returned up to 5.4 grams gold per tonne over an area measuring 250 by 4,700 metres. Gold grades in soils averaged 300 parts per billion, and copper values were as high as 1.1%.
A soil anomaly of similar size has been outlined along the extension of the adjacent Bulyanhulu deposit to the west. Vancouver-based Sutton Resources holds rights to the Bulyanhulu, which is estimated to contain up to 4.4 million tonnes grading 10.6 grams.
Tan Range regards both anomalies as promising drill targets and is conducting additional sampling and gridding in preparation for drilling. STAMICO, a Tanzanian
government corporation,
retains the remaining 10%
interest.
