Golden Crescent said it is attempting to determine the geometry of the Talbot Lake property where a 13,000-ft drill program is scheduled to begin soon.
“When stripping is complete, a drill, now on site, will test extensions of the known areas of gold mineralization and other structures with potential,” said Golden Crescent President Vance White.
Previous drill results from the 252-claim property include 24 ft of grade 0.48 oz gold per ton and 7 ft of grade 0.93 oz, according to figures released by Golden Crescent.
Those results were obtained from an area hosting an east/west trending belt of metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks two miles wide. The belt is compressed from batholithic intrusions to the north and south, according to Golden Crescent.
To earn its interest in the Placer Dome properties, Golden Crescent must spend $7 million over the next three years.
