Takla, Uranerz hit gold in Nevada

Reverse circulation drilling on the Slaven South property in Nevada has intersected additional gold mineralization.

Partners Uranerz U.S.A. and Takla Star Resources (ASE) are carrying out a 4,005-ft. program to evaluate several geochemical targets and an extensive mineralized system that was discovered last year. Ten of the 19 shallow holes intersected mineralization grading up to 0.03 oz. per ton over 45 ft. The mineralization is associated with a quartzite formation and remains open in most directions. Preliminary work has indicated good gold recoveries. Follow-up drilling is planned to test the deep potential, as well as the lateral extent, of the mineralization. This will coincide with deep drilling on the Orbit and Utah properties.

Elsewhere, on the nearby Hand-Me-Down property, a 2,990-ft. program was recently completed and no significant mineralization was encountered. The partners have subsequently decided to drop the property.
