Detailed geological surveys are under way on the Roman property of Samarkand Resources on the British Columbia-Yukon border, the company reports.
It says rock samples from the property have assayed up to 20 oz silv er per ton, and 65% lead and 17% zinc. President Ralph Shearing says the surveys will cover 2,500 acres within the Yukon, and 7,900 acres in B.C. They will include ip and gravity surveying and geological mapping.
Mr Shearing notes that Samarkand had been approached by a potential joint venture partner to fund drilling and trenching programs, but that Samarkand had declined the offer in order to keep exploration and development options open.
