Scintrex Ltd., a high-tech company based in Concord, Ont., has been awarded the rights to engineer, manufacture and market a portable trace narcotics detector. The detector is the result of four years of development by the National Research Council of Canada, on behalf of Canada Customs. Scintrex expects to have a commercial version on the market within a year.
