Suppliers news: SGS lab in Turkey gets accredited

Inspection, verification, testing and certification services firm SGS has announced that its laboratory in Ankara, Turkey has been recognized by the International Accreditation Service for meeting the requirements for specific registered tests for the minerals industry, known as the ISO/IEC 17025 standard.

SGS says conforming to the standard shows the lab’s technical competency. The facility serves the mining industry in Turkey, western Asia and eastern Europe.

The facility is equipped to provide analytical services including AAS, ICP-AES, fire assay, BLEG, carbon and sulphur by LECO, classical titration and a full suite of wet chemistry methods for exploration, mine development and commercial trade. It can process more than 1,000 samples per day.

Swiss-headquartered SGS operates 1,650 offices and labs across the world and employs 80,000 people.
