Machinery manufacturer Caterpillar received the Lamp of Knowledge award from Denver-based Mineral Information Institute for its video Common Ground and other teaching material.
The video explains the importance of mining and environmental responsibility. Since its releae in 1992, about 40,000 videos have been distributed by the institute to schools throughout the U.S.
