Sulphides found at Stares

Vancouver — After years of chasing the source of high-grade ploymetallic boulders, partners RJK Explorations (RJX.A-V) and Greater Lenora Resources (GEN-T) have uncovered a 10-metre-wide zone of sulphide mineralization on the Stares-Calvert project, near Thunder Bay, Ont.

A mixture of 10 grab samples and chip samples were collected over the bedrock discovery.

Grades of the surface samples ranged from 2.3% to 10% zinc, plus 10-134 grams silver per tonne. The mineralization also contained copper, lead and gold values.

The mechanical stripping program exposed a wide zone of felsic rocks with a mineralized horizon lying below a laterally extensive graphitic argillite horizon. To date, only 20 metres of mineralized rock have been exposed. Initial indications are that the zone dips 80 to the north.

The partners have been seeking the source of a 2-km-long, high-grade polymetallic float train. The boulders are mainly felsic volcanic rocks and appear to have come from a felsic fragmental unit up-ice. Trenching is ongoing.
