Sudbury Lab has new home

Energy, Mines and Resources Canada (EMR) will relocate its Sudbury Laboratory from the Laurentian University campus to an industrial park, says Minister Jake Epp.

Its 325-square-metre new home, 3.5 times as big as its current quarters, is on Kelly Lake Road in Sudbury, Ont., and near Inco Ltd.’s main Copper Cliff complex.

The lab, which specializes in mine backfill research, is operated by EMR’s research and development arm, the Canada Centre for Mineral and Energy Technology (CANMET).
